In spring 2021, construction of the largest wind park in Latvia has started. The Tārgale Wind Park will generate 155 GWh of electricity per year, enough to power more than 50 000 households.
The development of the Tārgale Wind Park has taken place over several years. During this time, many measures have been taken not only to meet the regulatory standards required for construction, but also to reduce the impact of the park on the surrounding environment and the society. This has been achieved by using state of the art turbines to achieve high production efficiency and reduce overall noise levels. The Tārgale Wind Park will improve Latvia’s energy security, reduce dependence on energy imports and increase the share of renewable energy.
